Rafsodia

After a relaxing chofesh after the conclusion of Machon and Boneh, all of Eden were reunited at the beautiful Kinneret for 3 days. The first two days were dedicated to Rafsodia – an activity where the chanichim are taught by their madrichim how to construct a raft using bamboo, barrels and rope.

The first day is spent constructing the skeleton of the raft, learning how to tie the various knots, and enjoying having time back together as a shichvah. Then, there was a delicious dinner, some time to relax and have some time in their kvutzot, before collapsing into bed, or at least a sleeping bag.

On the second day, construction is completed in the morning, including decorating the sail of each raft, and tying down pallets, which serve as the seating for the luxurious sail across the Kinneret. Then lunch is served, and there is a waiting game for the wind to pick up, which is usually around 1 or 2pm.

The sail was between a Karei Deshe Beach and Duggit Beach, here is a map showing you how to drive from one beach to another, so you can see how far they actually sailed:

Eden made it across in a flash, a new record in fact, just an hour and 20 minutes! Once they arrived at their destination, the rafts were taken apart, and everyone got to enjoy a swim in the Kinneret, a well-deserved break!

The third day was a day of games and swimming before heading to their new Kaveret houses. The Boneh kvutzah have now moved into their new abode in Rishon L’ziyon, and the Machon Kvutzah have settled into Akko.

A big thank you to HeChalutz for providing us with a wonderful Rafsodia experience!
